内容記述 | The Asahi-Kaikan that opened on 9th October 1929 at Nakanoshima, Osaka, had children’s educational programs from the beginning. There were two stages: one is the actual stage of the Asahi-Kaikan, and the other is the Journal“Asahi-Kaikan-Kodomono-Hon”. The actual stage was made up of Asahi Children’s Meetings and Asahi Children’s Athene. This paper will describe and discuss the process of building the network of the newspaper subscribers, focusing on the children and their families, as the children’s programs were considered to be strongly related to the value and corporate identity of the Asahi-Kaikan. The styles of those children’s programs connected each generation because they approached not only children but also their families for the purpose of realizing the corporate social identity of the Asahi-Kaikan, that is education and welfare. The idea of the organization’s activities started from recognizing the special responsibility of a newspaper company for the society. That time was characterized by many miserable news reports about World WarⅠ,or the Great Kanto Earthquake. Those news reports attracted people’s interest and brought a direct increase in profit of to the newspaper company. The network was constructed by the paper’s subscribers and then expanded to the children’s families later. The networking process, with the Asahi Kaikan at the center, ultimately led to the cultural movement after World War Ⅱ, realizing the popularization of arts, which was embodied in the forms of Ro-On 労音 or Uta-Goe 歌声 in Japan. So, the Asahi-Kaikan’s educational programs and its networks could be aptly summed up as the experimentation of social education and cultural activities incorporated in the social welfare system. |
