However, Newcomer children enrolment\nreaches only half the enrollment numbers of native Japanese students.\nAfter the lapse of more than 25 years since the amendment of the Immigration Control and Refugee Recognition Act of 1990,\nNewcomer children born in Japan (second generation) have gone through Japanese national schools experiencing issues related to\nculture adaptation, bullying, school truancy, etc.\nAlthough the enrollment rate has increased little by little, the dropout rate is also high. This issue not only affects the future of\nNewcomer children but also Japan's chance to acquire a diverse and talented youth. In this paper, through interviews and field\nwork, we analyze the factors and the causes that lead to high school dropouts of immigrant youths in Japan.
