内容記述 | Abstract:I have come to appreciate exercise for life and have pondered the question: In order to live a healthy and fulfilling life, how should children spend their elementary school days?In an effort to answer this question, and considering the popularity of the subject of physical education among children, I hypothesized that through physical education, children would develop more selfrespect and would come to enjoy exercising. In order to investigate the validity of the hypothesis, two classes were designed. Simply by exercising, it is hard to say that children’s self-respect will improve. Therefore, this study investigated the elements of affinity, fulfillment, and approval. Data were collected through questionnaires and observation. Results revealed better relationships among children, an eagerness to exercise, and the development of skills. However, it was not clear what particular sport lead to these three improvements. The complexity of the classes conducted probably caused problems in the data. Finally, it was concluded that the definition and purpose of physical education must be reconsidered. |
